The committee of ICT’s Smart Campus Award (TeSCA) 2014 announced 10 Best National Universities in Indonesia in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). In an event that was held in Wednesday (1st May 2013) 10 colleges received ICT's Smart Campus Award (TeSCA) – The ICT's Smartests Campus 2014.

The annual competition event which was started in 2008 by PT. Telkom with Telkom Smart Campus (TeSCA) name was intended to measure the extent to which the use of Information Technology & Communication (Information & Communication Technology / ICT) in about 3079 universities in the country, including 82 state universities and 2991 private universities.

Each college can determine Index Value of ICT implementation which will be detailed based on Index values ​​per domain and per parameter, and then compared with an average score of its university. TeSCA ranking was divided into 3 categories: TeSCA 100, TeSCA 500 & TeSCA 1000. Colleges that were included in the ranking of 100 have right to use TeSCA 100 logo in any promotion or college publication in the national media. Universities were required to follow the development of ICT and prepare adequate Superstructure, Infrastructure and ICT systems. TeSCA encourage campuses to become the Center of Excellence that is closely interact and easily accessible by the public. Campuses should be able to build a Science asset or Common intellectual assets and share ICT content and systems to promote the ease of learning. Universities should carry the spirit of the Collaborative work, multi disciplines, knowledge exchange, e-learning and blended learning.

TeSCA will direct the college to become a Center of Excellence according to the development of ICT and through the measurement of index, ranking and ICT mapping, the college can reflect, and know its position in the utilization of ICT in order to formulate appropriate IT Planning.

Indicators that were assessed by TeSCA, covering 11 domains, namely:

1. Connectivity level of used ICT
2. Completeness of ICT material
3. Application Standard (software) that is used
4. Literacy quality of lecturer and visual that use ICT
5. Policy that support ICT in the campus
6. Benefit of existing ICT for the community
7. Campus participation in national education
8. Availability of Sharing Resource
9. Adequate computer facility for ICT application
10.The use of IT Media which is environmentally friendly
11.Utilization Value of existing ICT for beneficial research activity for society around campus.

Based on assessment indicators above, therefore TeSCA committee have determined 10 Best Universities in the National Level (Top 10), receiver of The Smartest Campus Award (TeSCA).

The achievement that was gained by UNIKOM as National Champion (Top 10) The Smartest Campus Award (TeSCA) for 5 years in a row (2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) has show that UNIKOM is one of The Best University in Indonesia toward World Class University (WCU).
